(In)secure
Extraits
(In)Secure is the result of a meeting between two dancers and choreographers: Carmélita Siwa from Benin and Kadidja TIEMANTA
and the Malian Kadidja Tiemanta. In this duet , they question the notion of dependence, specific to human beings: dependence on narcotics, love, sex, technology, money, and medication. But it is the emotional dependence and what generates it that is explored here: obsession, the need to identify with another, lack of self-confidence, the desire to be loved and accepted.
(In)Secure reflects on the conditioning of the human being in our societies and the different states of dependence. Between denial and awareness, the two bodies try to find their way towards empowerment.
Performance on Saturday 27 November 2021, French Institute of Cotonou, streaming.
