Baroque dance refers to the court and theater dance of the 17th and 18th centuries: to please, dazzle, surprise and delight, dance is inseparable from the marvelous. Harmony between bra ornament and leg movements, beautiful dance does not exclude jumps as long as they are done with elegance. Grace, accuracy, lightness, folded, elevated and jumped are the driving forces.
Social par excellence, dancing was part of the gentleman’s education in the same way as hunting, war or music. Baroque dance is at the origin of classical dance: certain steps, drums, turns or basque steps, etc., are already recognizable and codified. Codified, the dance was noted, which is how the court dances of this period could be reconstructed.
