L'ombre du doute

I am sure that there is a dark side to humanity, so there is a dark side to me. I am sure that to get moving makes more sense than to freeze. To be vulnerable instead of stepping back to be safe – but what can I do to be brave?
How do I answer -today- in a way that makes sense? …I Dance.

Director Statement

In reaction to the shocking world news earlier this year, that fell upon us like a dark shadow, we created this film. Even though we felt powerless and sad, at the same time, there was the urge to move. Not to hide, but to connect. Because even in times when you feel there are only dark shadows surrounding you, getting moving and staying connected is the most important thing. 

CHOREOGRAPHY

Movement and choreography are created by Feike Santbergen, for whom this video-performance is the first time he presents a work of dance.

CREATION

This creation was at heart a response to the outbreak of war in Ukraine. The film was created within a short amount of time, with improv as its main mode of creation. Both directors of film, Feike and Sanne worked closely on both the visual as the performance aspect of l’Ombre du Doute.
