Creation in 2015 with 17 students from 4th IEM / IES – Teaching Unit APAJH – The college Durantière Nantes.
A creation with 17 thirteen/fourteen year-old students from the APAJH (Association for Adults and Young People with Disabilities) Educational Unit of the La Durantière High-school in Nantes.
Le Manoir is a confined space consisting of smaller spaces, apartments of sensations and materials. Each place conceals and reveals a quality of moving, a change of state, a mystery. Paths are drawn on the ground that guide the young apprentice dancers to another being. They walk through this large and strange dwelling that indicates, in each box, a quality of body. They advance in the rooms like explorers of the body and of its different ways of moving: round, brittle, gentle, slow, thick, linear, fast, charged with wind or storm, funny or frankly strange, slippery or sticky…
The child invents worlds. He/she embarks on journeys to imaginary countries of the body, the possibilities of the body, its limits, its releases, its blossomings.
