La rencontre entre de jeunes danseurs hip-hop algériens et de jeunes français permet de confronter les rêves, de mélanger les imaginaires.
On both sides of the Mediterranean, youth is projected “on the other side of the sea”.
In France, for some, it is about the land of origins, the pain and the difficulty to assume a double culture.
In Algeria, we dream of freedom, social climbing … while watching television …
We simply dream to forget the difficulties of life.
The meeting between young Algerian hip-hop dancers and young French people makes it possible to confront dreams, to mix the imaginary.
Beyond the history of this meeting between the two shores of the Mediterranean, it is the restitution towards “the land of the origins” of this Mediterranean contribution which made French hip-hop so original but also of the introduction of a certain sweetness, on the one hand femininity in a rather macho world.
