“I would like to pay homage to the recollection, nestled in the heart of my childhood memory, of this fictional society peopled by humans, animals and plants that live, talk to and devour each other in La Fontaine’s world.”
“The Fox and the Crow” is the only fable which I can still remember after thirty years and recite from memory: ‘What a handsome and good-looking bird you are!’…
I would like to pay homage to the recollection, nestled in the heart of my childhood memory, of this fictional society peopled by humans, animals and plants that live, talk to and devour each other in La Fontaine’s world.
I love this art of storytelling where the brilliance and elegance of the language, its lightness, is telling us about cruelty, vanity, the savagery of the world.”

“‘The Fox and the Crow” falls within the project devised by Annie Sellem (La Petite Fabrique). The rule of the game: the ‘Fables à La Fontaine’ repertoire is made up of short pieces suitable for a family audience, in many styles, ranging from hip-hop to hip-swaying classical. Each piece, lasting fifteen to twenty minutes, can be performed alone or with two or three others: outdoors, in a park bandstand, under the awning of a ‘lavoir’ (village wash house), in the covered yard of a school…”
