Fascinated by the theme of inspiration, dancer Daniela Lucà called on four artists (two theatre directors and two choreographers, two men and two women) in 2010. She offered them a carte blanche, her “neutral” cameleon-like body, to create four tableaux around the image of the “Muse” as mediator between the artist and the divine.
For this fourth installment of “Pagina Bianca”, she called on Karine Ponties who used Daniela as a muse herself.
Excerpt from Karine’s intention notes
I really tried to choose one specific muse, but to be honest… I was unable to do so because very often these muses, these women, had to escape the eye of the artist to become someone. In close proximity to these artists, they were “absorbed.” So they form part of the shadows, of secrecy, they are a kind of crutch and always lovers. A strong presence filled with absence… In truth, we know little about these characters, they are always shrouded in dreams and mystery.
