‘Rites’ brings together six dancers around Denis Plassard, who assumes the role of speaker for this occasion, inviting us to discover a collection of ‘traditional contemporary’ dance.

Rites is a choreographed conference about modern rituals and folklores.

This show brings together six dancers around Denis Plassard who will be the speaker: he invites us to discover a fantastic collection of “traditional contemporary dances” each more incredible than the last.

The conference takes us on a zany journey to the heart of the rituals of our modern society: from the “Psy-dance” practiced as couple therapy to the “TriDance” that sorts the company staff during incentive sessions, through late night waltz danced under the banquet tables!

Each dance is analyzed and put in context (historical, geographical and social).

The soundtrack, composed at the same time as the choreography, accompanies this funny travel offering original musical setting for each dance.
