La Suite Logique des Choses
Choreographic performance for 9 dancers – echoing the exhibition ” Claude Viallat : sails, ropes , nets, umbrellas ” at the Museum of Fine Arts in Nantes in May 2015.
Prolonging the painter’s research into the random and repetition, Claude Brumachon imagines a choreography in situ, which incorporates an element of chance into its progression. In this way, freed of all constraints, dance turns into a play of variations on gestures and colours.
Based on nine scores, the dancers draw lots for a colour and execute a random dance to For 18 musicians by Steve Reich. Each representation differs from the one before and reveals a new danced proposal.
A choreographic work, halfway between performance art and installation art, La Suite Logique des Choses invites the spectator to an open artistic encounter where the work of Claude Viallat, the music of Steve Reich and the dance of Claude Brumachon converge.
