The lecture demonstration “Du rituel au plaisir” illustrates by examples chosen from the Baroque repertoire of the seventeenth century and extracts from “Que ma joie demeure” (Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring), the relationship between music and Baroque dance which has remained indissoluble for four centuries. The research process which led from courtly dance to the creation of this latest performance is also explained.
