The audience, projected into the future, can, at will, act on and interact with a hybrid being, a kind of ‘organorg’, trapped for eternity in its protective capsule. The creature in question is nothing more than one of many Immortal(s) who have been discarded.
It is the embodiment of a highly sophisticated AI of the future, which ‘poses a problem’ and raises questions for us ….
