Hélène Iratchet
Hélène Iratchet is a dancer and choreographer. Trained as an athlete, she went on to study literature at Toulouse le Mirail University before training as a dancer at the Conservatoire, then at the CDC (Centre de développement chorégraphique Toulouse-Midi-Pyrénées), in New York at the Merce Cunningham Studio, and finally in numerous courses and workshops.
Since 2004 and the creation of the Richard association, she has created a number of pieces: the solo “En privé à Babylone”, the duet “Jack in the box”, the quartet “Hommage d’un demi-dimanche à un Nicolas Poussin entier”, the duets “Roi et Reine” at Montpellier danse, “SOCLE” with the writer Pauline Klein as part of the Concordanse(s) festival and the duet “ROSE” co-written with Rachel Garcia for the festival Entre cour et jardins in Dijon.
Alongside her activities as a dancer and choreographer, she was a student at Le Fresnoy, Studio national des arts contemporains in Tourcoing between 2005 and 2007, where she made the film “Let’s dance” and the performance “Badadidoo dodle di” with the filmmaker Benoit Bourreau. In 2011 she took part in the Crossings international workshop held in Johannesburg, which enabled young international artists to work together to create and present a 12mm piece on the Dance Factory stage at the end of a 2-week residency. In 2015, she joined the SPEAP master’s programme for experimentation in arts and politics at Sciences Po Paris, founded and directed by the sociologist Bruno Latour, where she studied the issues of the Anthropocene and climate in connection with Cop 21. Finally, in 2016-2017 she took part in the Prototype IV training course run by choreographer Hervé Robbe at the Fondation Royaumont.
Since 2001 she has worked as a performer with Gisèle Vienne and Etienne Bideau-Rey( Showrommdummies, Stéréotypie), Thierry Bédard ( Enfer) Christian Rizzo ( Soit le puits… ), Herman Diephuis( le Muma et elles ), Thierry Baë( Tout ceci(n)est (pas) vrai ), David Wampach( reprise in Sacre ), Julie Desprairies ( Paris l’infini, Tes Jambes nues, l’Architecte de St Gaudens) , Sylvain Prunenec( Vos jours et vos heures ), Xavier Le Roy (Retrospective, Untitle), Ivana Muller ( Edges ).
She also acts in performances and films by artists Pauline Curnier-Jardin ( La Crèche Vivante, Resurrection Plot and Ulla Von Brandenbourg ( It has a golden sun and an elderly grey moon), and filmmaker Shalimar Preuss ( Etrange dit l’ange ).
