A leading figure in the sound arts with an international reputation, eRikm’s approach to the visual arts begins with sculpture, installation and video. Composer and improvising musician, visual artist and video artist, virtuoso turntable player and sound artist, eRikm (lives and works in Marseille) develops an openly forward-looking approach to the technological medium. Working alone or in collaboration (with Luc Ferrari, Christian Marclay, Akosh S., Mathilde Monnier, Bernard Stiegler, FM Einheit…), he creates cross-disciplinary works that create a singular, kaleidoscopic vision, placing the intimate and the political, the popular and the scholarly, in tension.
