Ondine Cloez
Ondine Cloez (born 1979) is a choreographer and performer.
She has worked as a performer for artists such as Mathilde Monnier, Laurent Pichaud, Linda Samaraweerova, Marcos Simoes, Sara Manente, Jaime Llopis, Randy Carreno, Rémy Héritier, Antoine Defoort & Halory Goerger, Grand Magasin, Jocelyn Cottencin, Loïc Touzé, and Gaël Santisteva.
In 2009, she co-created Some Performances, a video project, along with Sara Manente and Michiel Reynaerts, as well as the site-specific work Grand Tourists.
In 2018, she created her first piece, the solo Vacances vacance, followed by The Art of Preserving Health in 2020 and its garden-based variation La Ballade des Simples.
From 2020 to 2021, Ondine Cloez was an artist-in-residence at Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers. Taking inspiration from the 13th-century text The Art of Preserving Health, she developed a branching series of projects: a choreographic work, guided walks and visits, and lectures—each extending her reflections on health and the Middle Ages.
In 2024, she co-created the duo The first word of the first poem of the first collection is basket with Kotomi Nishiwaki.
In 2025, she will begin a research project titled été pourri (rotten summer) as part of the Laboratoires Artistiques du Vivant in Walloon Brabant. This will lead to a publication in the “Éclats” collection by Contredanse.
She is also beginning a collaboration with choreographer Saghar Hosseinpour for an upcoming duet.
