Yo Gee Ti Documentary

This documentary offers a glimpse into the heart of the creation of the performance Yo Gee Ti in Taipei, Taiwan. The images of rehearsals and interviews with the artists reveal the stakes of the meeting between two gestures, two cultures.

« I wanted to go and meet a culture that is both marked by ancestral traditions and rooted in extreme modernity. The language barrier led me to change my relationship to dancers, music and space. It is this jostling that animates my creative process, curious to find the pivot between my dance, the one that characterizes me, and dance in Taiwan, which is necessarily different. For this creation, I added to the dance the constraint of costumes sculpted in wool, created by a young Taiwanese stylist. I wanted to create a new relationship with movement and to set dance in another space. »
