(creation 2013)

Meeting again, after such a long time, and talking about ourselves… Articulating what motivates us, giving and receiving, sharing thoughts, feelings and “little details”, and daring to take risks… Today, in these times, as if torn from an age rushing headlong onwards…

This duet is the fruit of intuition and desire reinforced by our interactions since the connection we first established twenty years ago. We have brought together the conditions for this encounter in a precise context, in an atmosphere conductive to listening, observing and sharing sensations, in a space supportive of our making ourselves available for whatever may happen, as if in the “gentle imprudence” of the choreography’s title… Rapidly we felt the need to call upon an external element, which quickly took the form of a flowing material, soft and warm. An apparently “poor” material, whose hidden richness is revealed in its power of metamorphosis. Transformed, it becomes an imaginary landscape or an ephemeral sculpture garden; it wraps the body to invoke femininity; it twists and hardens to the joint forces deployed; it allows an entangled melee of bodies to escape; it returns to the shape of a simple discarded heap before welcoming our two shared beings.

We conceived the piece as a choreographic poem connecting different physical presences, inviting (each other), experiencing (one another), calling out (to each other), in that fraternal disposition of humanity to pay attention to the Other, to others, to space, to objects, to sounds, to the world as if traversed with the idea of caring.

And then there is the exceptionally singular voice stimulating our movement. That of singer Sidsel Endresen.
