In October 2016, Herman Diephuis meets Jorge Ferreira, a young Brazilian dancer, during a workshop in Brasilia. For this solo, Herman Diephuis wants to explore Jorge’s capacity of transformation, of metamorphism. He defines Tremor and more as a theatrical abstraction. Using shaking and trembling as a movement principle, repetition and time span as a condition, the piece searches to unable different presences and states to arise, to approach moments of stillness like zooms or close-ups. These moments only appear to erase again as if absorbed by the rhythm and the energy of this dance ritual close to trance.
