Tous ont besoin d'amour [Via Dolce]
”Tous ont besoin d’amour [via dolce]” (2004) is a short film by Arnold Pasquier. It was shot in Bourges, France. It is part of a series of three films.
“Three gardens surrounded by water, through which canals and streams flow. Men and women pass through, sing songs, hold each other in their arms. One man looks for another, women unfold white cloths, a scribe writes sentences on a slate. In this landscape, they talk of botany and a lost love, of Christmas, and Saint Bouleverse ; they dance and sail up the river in a boat, as in these three gardens, they all need love”.
Remark by Arnold Pasquier in 2019 :
“This series of three films, initiated at the invitation of a friend in Palermo, develops a story that combines city experience, songs, and choreographies, inspired by certain situations featured in Pina Bausch’s choreographies, such as these couples or groups who hold hands as they move. It is a way of looking at cities through the body of the interpreters, while inventing a story that escapes from fiction to speak of love. The third part was produced at the invitation of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Bourges, and was developed in the form of a workshop It was shot in the gardens of the Hortillonnages (vegetable-growing wetlands) in Bourges, mixing students from the school and guest actors and dancers .”
