Documentary on Kader Attou’s production ‘The Roots’, an exploration of what hip-hop dance really is; the constant appropriation of codes, reworked and revisited through the development of new languages.
The Roots says what it is : a work deeprooted, born of essence and sap. But although it references these origins, The Roots is no exercise in archaeology or a return to the past. A creation of light and air, it represents yet another step forward on the professional path of Kader Attou as he redefines the very boundaries of hip hop.
