Texane
De “Texane”, Claude Brumachon disait qu’il voulait donner la vision que lui, enfant, portait sur le monde des adultes qui l’entouraient.
Concerning Texane, Claude Brumachon said that he wished to give the vision that he, as a child, had of the world of adults who surrounded him. Based on an inner need, Texane is a major work in the choreographer’s career. There is a before and after Texane, with the signature of a personal and scathing choreographic writing, emotional in gesture, pictoral in set design, wounded in memory.
Texane received three awards at the Concours International de Bagnolet in June 1988: the award by the Cointreau Foundation rewarding the best contemporary choreography, the Léonard de Vinci award given by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Bonnie Bird award presented by the Laban Dance Centre in London.
