Recorded at the CND 22 March 2012

In Tableaux vivants pictures, sculptures and videos by Roland Rauschmeier after a choreography by Anne Juren, get stimulated by means of a dramaturgical course, which orientates on the drama theory by Gustav Freytag. The objects, paintings and projection surfaces get mobilized by performers in an open stage situation. It is about the confrontation of “performance-art” and “visual arts” and the breaks and disavowals which result from it with regards to content. But it is not about the artistic transfer from one domain into the other.

Contemporary choreographers often use ideas and works of the visual art to expand their own projects with regards to the content as well as to the form. Equally visual artists are highly fascinated by the possibilities of bodily expression.
These parallel worlds should be broken and finally connected by the music, which is integral part of the presentation and will be developed in close collaboration with an orchestra or band.
The aim is to create a spatial assemblage. Its centre is the moved picture and dancers and artworks are joined as a performative whole.
