Synchronicity
undefined
An essential work by Carolyn Carlson, Synchronicity is the expression of her sensitive and enlightened perception of these events that dramatically change one’s life. Inspired by Jung, she explores the meaning of those strange coincidences that resonate in oneself with a particular sharpness. A clock that stops when a beloved father dies. A meeting that changes a destiny. Being reunited with a loved one by an incredible turn of fate. These situations arise during intense emotions, unique circumstances, key turning points. They also arise between two beings driven by a very close relationship: sisters, lovers, mother and child.
People experiencing such emotions let the intentions of the unconscious brush against the surface of their consciousness. It is then necessity that guides their existence. On images imagined by the choreographer, in which time assumes that of subjective and emotive perception, the dancers plunge into these deep waters of danger, rebellion, love, loss, regret, madness, departure, and pass through these symbolic correspondences that metamorphose vision for all time. The leaping impetus of the bodies on the stage and the cinematographic sequences echo one another in an intimate and disconcerting manner. Interpreted by the unique personalities of nine dancers, this creation lays bare the vital aspirations that drive us.
