Sem Mim
Their movements are intimately linked to their Brazilian roots, their dance is both fluid and frenetic, their musical compositions are original and, above all, the physicality and technique of the twenty-one performers are exemplary.
This new creation is based on the music of Carlos Núñez and José Miguel Wisnik. The two musicians drew their inspiration from the songs of Martín Códax. Written in the thirteenth century, these songs are characteristic of the troubadour tradition and are among the oldest documents to define the origin of the Portuguese language. Carlos Núñez and José Miguel Wisnik attempt to recreate the sounds of the period using modern instruments, in particular Brazilian guitars, which are the closest thing to medieval instruments and galégos.
