Rendez-vous sur le quai de la Gare is a new key moment set up by the Centre Chorégraphique National Malandain Ballet Biarritz, dedicated to dance and the young public. Produced in partnership with the Banque Populaire Aquitaine Centre Atlantique, the Malandain Ballet Biarritz proposes an original approach and vision of dance, based on the uniqueness of the CCN, installed in an old railway station, the Gare du Midi.

For two days, on May 3rd & 4th 2012, children and their families discovered what goes on behind the scenes of a national choreographic centre (CCN) and a professional dance company via a variety of actions: – a show for all publics presenting extracts from Thierry Malandain’s ballets (Mozart à 2, Magifique, Une Dernière chanson, Lucifer) – a meeting with Thierry Malandain, the choreographer – a meeting with Oswald Roose, the company’s stage manager – an exhibition of Olivier Houeix’s photos (the company’s official photographer) – an exhibition of Jérémie Nassif’s photos – visits round the Gare du Midi – an exhibition of traditional Basque costumes by Claude Iruretagoyena – a public class by the company’s dancers – choreographic workshops – a photo exhibition: portraits of dancers from the Ballet Biarritz – school performances – a public class for the dance school students – a public presentation of the Conservatoire Maurice Ravel Côte Basque (transmission project of the ballet Ouverture cubaine by Thierry Malandain, adapted by Dominique Cordemans), of the Art-Dance option at the Lycée André Malraux in Biarritz (L’Ecume des jours [Froth on the Daydream], a creation by Gaël Domenger), and of the Centre de Formation Professionnelle en Danse de Biarritz (Biarritz Centre for Professional Dance Training).
