Peekaboo by Marco Goecke, a German choreographer associated with the Nederlands Dans Theater, is a custom-designed creation for eight dancers who throw themselves into it. With this creation, Marco Goecke was elected choreographer of the year 2015 by TANZ magazine.
Solos, duets, trios and group passages are effectively linked to Britten’s music, on the “hiding-revealing” game. The dance is syncopated and lively, making it possible to react each one in its own way to this childish game – sometimes frightened, sometimes reckless, sometimes amused. Charismatic, percussive, invested to the end of the movement, each one has the presence of a soloist as the concern for the coherence of the group.
