Each one in their own specialty, the Galactik Ensemble acrobats do not only challenge the laws of gravity for the pleasure of exercise and mastery. They met at the National School of Circus of Rosny-sous-Bois in 2006 before working together to defend a “situationist acrobatics”. In reference to this movement of the 1960s that denied the separation between art and life, they present a show where they have to escape multiple obstacles, from a ceiling that collapses to firecrackers, through bags of flour that target them.
Faced with the unpredictable reality of our societies, they explore live on stage these dangerous moments where control escapes and where it is necessary to fight to preserve its integrity. To the millimeter, in a staging and choreography impeccably punctuated to avoid hostile elements, the Circassians propose a middle ground, in a devastated environment. “We question, they explain, the ability of man to adapt in a sustainable way (…). Hope, we summon it through the resistance to oppression in all its strategies and in our unfailing solidarity”.
