Numeridanse celebrates its anniversary !
In 2011, Charles Picq, director and head of the Image Department of the Maison de la Danse, launched the crazy challenge of bringing together on a single platform the video archives of the dance world. 10 years later, more than 4,000 works and dozens of educational tools are freely available on Numeridanse. A unique and reference platform, more than 1 million visitors consulted the site in 2020! On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, Numeridanse is celebrating with a 100% online and completely free event sponsored by the director Cédric Klapisch. From November 10 to 17, 2021, an eclectic program will be offered on the platform and its social networks. Unmissable dance films, interviews, documentaries, short films, masterclasses, webinars …
For 10 years, The Maison de la Danse has the chance to run Numeridanse platform, an outstanding digital tool dedicated to the art of movement and to the history of dance in all its forms. Numeridanse was created with the help of the Centre national de la danse de Pantin and with the support of the French Ministry of Culture and the BNP Paribas Foundation. Moreover, it is the platform’s contributors, theaters, National Choreographic Centers, artists, companies and producers who brings it to life and enriches it every day. During the lockdown, its use exploded allowing spectators to stay in touch with dance. Numeridanse has contributed, more than ever, to opening up the world of dance to greatest number of people possible in France and abroad. Rigorous and generous, sharp and intuitive, fun and enriching, Numeridanse platform brings together both professionals and public. It is a resource site for artistic and cultural education and for spectator training. To celebrate this anniversary, director Cédric Klapisch honors us by sponsoring this 100% digital festival, offering a program that brings together essential works from the choreographic landscape as well as exceptional short films and also live masterclasses.
