In “No play hero”, Yuval Pick combines two works by the American minimalist composer David Lang, danced live by Ryan Wilson and the TaCtuS ensemble. “Here, I wanted a minimalist work which was still expressive. It’s a work of synthesis, the aim being to only retain what is essential in the movement, with this music that is both structured and tribal.” Yuval Pick
In this piece, Yuval Pick develops a non-narrative and energetic dance that responds to a strong musical composition. His works emanate a desire for harmony that never seems to fully materialise, as if hampered by some kind of restlessness. His dance invites, disturbs and surprises, because it indicates a sincere desire to express humanity and to share.
