Nervures

A solo danced by Fabrice Lambert with an original mobile created by Xavier Veilhan.

Following two group creations, Solaire and Faux Mouvement, Fabrice Lambert now returns to the solo figure, which he had already used in particular with Gravité. In this instance, he appears on the stage in a dialogue with an original mobile created by Xavier Veilhan, thus giving shape to a reflection on the networks that structure our lives and exploring in his interaction with the work, the effects of chain reactions and the space of singularity that they permit.

“Nervures is in our midst or passes through us. It is a network. It is a never-ceasing circulation. Nervures conjures up the idea of irrigation. Like a microscopic river. Between the source and the estuary… I stand between these two points, in the middle of the river. I am at a precise moment of a landscape that is not only outside me. I am part of it. I constitute it. 

I would like to dwell, with Nervures, on what connects us, today, with a primitive and raw nature. On the sidelines, Nervures is fed by a series of interviews that I conducted with blind people who express and question, with their blindness, their relationship with the notion of landscape and, thus, with this nature. 

I met with the visual artist Xavier Veilhan to discuss these concerns. He then created the Mobile n°8 for this work. On stage, the relationship between man and the mobile, an object with multiple ramifications, becomes the metaphor for modern man faced with his realities, which he questions continually.” 

Fabrice Lambert is in long-term residency at the Centre National de la Danse (2012-2014) with the support of the Seine-Saint-Denis department.
