This long piece of film contains no dialogue and is Claude Mouriéras’ personal adaptation of the piece ‘Pandora’ by Jean-Claude Gallotta. The way in which images and narrative are dealt with makes specific reference to Italian neo-realist films. The dynamics and aestheticism of each scene sometimes create a discrepancy between the sophisticated directing and the assumed naivety, indeed the apparent simplicity, of certain choreographic prejudices.
The world premiere of this film was shown at the International Critics’ Week of the Cannes Film Festival in 1989.
