L’Espace d’un Instant is a story of bodies in their environment :
To exist, any movement passes by brief moments of imbalance, suspension, even of disorder. With L’Espace d’un Instant (“a very brief moment”), Kitsou Dubois invites us to travel in the middle of these moments.
She proposes a course to the audience, to install them in the special rythm of the representation. A course in three stages to see, listen and feel, where the body acts like a prolongation of the senses and takes part in perception. The choreographer distils some of her experiments there to reach these moments of suspension which make the matter of her work.
The audience is then invited to come closest to the stage where the trapezist Chloé Moglia initiates a dialogue with the dancer Francesca Bonato. Each one evolves/moves initially in its space of predilection, before taming the space of the other gradually, and thus making the meeting possible.
The two interpreters are immersed in a sound material designed by Martin Wheeler. He uses the technique of the granular synthesis : the sound is stretched, Time is like suspended… The sound moves are like an echo with the movement in the “suspended-bodies” of the dancers.
Later, the dancers dialogue with the video image, as in a duo with a double, an other body immersed in another environment.
