Les Trois Contents

”Les trois contents” (2008) is a short film by Arnold Pasquier. It was shot at the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres based on a choreography by Julie Desprairies. It was created as part of a Compagnie des Prairies residency at the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres.  

Remark by Arnold Pasquier in 2019 :  

“For one year, the choreographer Julie Desprairies worked regularly at the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres, collecting porcelain manufacturing gestures and body shapes produced by the ceramists (the famous Sèvres “biscuits”).  Through the materials and tools used, the furniture and volume of the workshops, the Manufacture is an inhabited place, both photogenic and potentially fictional. The continuous cohabitation of ceramists in their precise and meticulous gestures, with old and contemporary porcelain pieces, offer each time promises of fiction. 

I have proposed a transcription of the patient appropriation of movements in a narrative that unfolds in the various workshops of the Manufacture.”
