Les gestes de la danse : Michelle Noiret
Through these different episodes, “Les gestes de la danse” (Dance gestures) invites choreographers accustomed to Chaillot to question the gesture of their choice.
With Carolyn Carlson, José Montalvo, Tatiana Julien, Jann Gallois, Noé Soulier, Abou Lagraa, Michèle Noiret and Olivier Dubois.
“Welcome to your survival guide to the 21st century!” This is how this gripping treaty of disaster opens, imagined by Michèle Noiret with the collaboration of David Drouard. Gradually assailed from everywhere, the five characters attempt to resist fire, pollution and violence that threaten for a full hour to annihilate them. The chaos is embodied on stage in a scenography that is as simple as it is suggestive, thanks to large cardboard pieces that are progressively torn to shreds and the large format videos that surround the dancers. The movements of the bodies talk of the resistance, the desire of escape or the hope for a better world. They make the considerations of the choreography sensitive, looking to “question our society in constant mutation”, in a polyphonic dialogue between dance and cinema.
