L'envol de Lilith

Choreography
Year of production
1992

Famous matador Pablo Enrique del Amor de la Madona comes everynight to watch Lilith who dances flamenco. A bored caliph plots her kidnapping in her dressing room. Lilith dances for the caliph covered with gold pieces when Pablo arrives to set her free.

The great matador Pablo Enrique del Amor de la Madona comes, like every evening, to see Lilith dance flamenco. A bored caliph has her abducted from her dressing room. Pablo then consults a fortune teller to find out where she is. While Lilith, covered with golden coins, dances for the caliph, Pablo arrives to rescue her. Taking advantage of the fight, Lilith flies off on a flying carpet.

This film, full of humour, takes on the aesthetics of silent films. Cécile Proust, who has studied flamenco and oriental dances for the past fifteen years, designed this custom-made fiction with Jacques Hoepffner in order to mix two traditional expressions which, in appearance, have nothing in common. An enjoyable film for all publics.
