Lagune
Created on the occasion of the DADA centenary, in 2016, the piece “Lagune” is directed by plastic artist Denis Savary, who collaborates on this occasion with choreographer Jérémy Tran. The performance is driven by a musical creation that includes soundscapes from the international popular music archives of the Geneva Museum of Ethnography.
The performance revolves around a puppet loosely inspired by the work of Sophie Taeuber Arp, “The Robot King”, built for the occasion and manipulated by the puppeteer Evelyne Villaime.
“Lagune” recreates, on stage or in an open space, a city on the water, the imaginary kingdom of Robot King, whose different facades and ramparts are mobile, and continuously moved by six interpreters.
Wishing this creation to be as flexible and scalable as possible, “Lagune” premiered in Zurich, the cradle of Dadaism, then returned to Paris and Geneva.
