Human migration at the heart of an ambitious and urban dance project.
Drawing inspiration from the great migration of monarch butterflies that travel thousands of kilometres each year, Soraya Thomas and her dancers explore the notion of departure, crossing, survival and the unknown. Putting human migration into the abyss, La Révolte des papillons puts the body at the centre of a device adapted to urban spaces. The performers reveal their individualities within the collective in a circular device of great magnitude. Like a flow in the city, Soraya Thomas’s dance echoes a world in motion. Subtle and committed.
