JINX 103
Recorded at the CND 7 February 2014
Don’t look for a stage, set or wings, József Trefeli and Gabor Varga have no need for them. Both dancers have chosen the atrium of the Centre national de la danse for their unique dance venue. And with what class!
With their combination of traditional Hungarian dance, contemporary dance and body percussions, they love mixing genres and rhythms. Using their bodies as instruments, they snap their fingers and tap and hit, creating a movement dynamic that is energetic to say the very least. Light and quick as lightning on their feet, twisting, leaping and bounding, intertwining their legs to shape out space: this criss-cross of movements offers an explosive and astonishing sight. By its inhabiting of public space, JINX 103 crystallises this intense collaboration, transforming it into a revolutionary synthesis of expression.
