Je, tu, il·elle, nous dansons !
Les Hivernales, the Centre de Développement Chorégraphique National (CDCN) d’Avignon, is convinced that contemporary dance is a formidable vehicle for social equality, capable of including all bodies and all backgrounds, and is offering a unique programme for nursery and elementary schools.
Anne teaches a CM1 class in a rather privileged village, while Christelle teaches a CP class in a REP+ (Réseau d’Éducation Prioritaire) in a deprived area of Avignon.
On the stage of Les Hivernales, in the company of other school teachers, they are re-taming their bodies, assimilating choreographic gestures and, above all, sharing the pleasure of dancing together.
Guided by Émilie Cornillot, dancer and teacher, they will in turn pass on this pleasure of dancing to their classes.
Little by little, as each of them develops a choreographic piece to close the year, new relationships are forged with their pupils.
And what if contemporary dance in schools were a powerful lever for promoting learning and shaping the citizens of tomorrow?
