Interview of Eric Delphin Kwégoué
Cameroonian actor, performer and playwright Eric Delphin Kwégoué has been invited to take part in the first edition of the Croisement dance and performance biennial, organised from 7 to 16 December 2024 by the Compagnie Walo in Abomey-Calavi, a town north of Cotonou (Benin). There, he plays his performance ‘L’Afrique n’ira plus au Vatican’ (‘Africa will no longer go to the Vatican’). He is also leading a workshop with young Beninese dancers and performers, culminating in a collective performance entitled ‘Enracinement’, presented in the public space.
In an interview by Anne Décoret-Ahiha on 16 December 2024 at the Walo dance centre, he describes his artistic career and sets out his vision of performance art, particularly in the African context.
