Indigo Rose by Jiri Kylian was created in 1998, as a tribute to the transient nature of youth and human relationships. A series of tender duets and agile solos are set against the digital projections of the dancers themselves. The know-how is obvious. Kylian is an expert when it comes to playing with the agility of the dancers’ body, with the illusion of shadow and reality, with weight and weightlessness, balance and imbalance. He opposes the percussive music of hyperactive pseudo-ethnic dances to the baroque compositions of JS Bach and Couperin for duets full of emotion.
