For us, working as a duo is fundamental. It is the source of our history and each represents a particular event in the development of our research. These rare and privileged moments determine and enhance our work as a company.
These face-to-face are also types of challenges launched to us the performers and they are indispensable for acknowledging and rediscovering the other. Regard perdu (1980) was our first choreographic adventure, followed by Les noces d’argile (1981), and then Welcome to paradise (1989).
The inspiration for our two previous pieces, l’Irresponsabilité dApollon (April 96), les Chiens (October 96) came from the Oresteia.
With this duo, we are pursuing our foray into these imposing tragedies, because in the shadow of great myths we can talk about ourselves in a private manner. This time round, we are inspired by Oedipus, Jocasta and their incestuous love.
