Hourra !
A documentary made by Maison de la Danse in Lyon for the creation of “Hourra !”, creation of the Hallet Eghayan Company.
40 years of dances and constantly renewed desires are the links between sources, history and renewal.6 dancers, 7 tableaux, 8 tunes and thousands of reasons to be carried away, “HOURRA !” is a journey that takes us into a host of universes : from jazz inspired by Tigran Hamasyan, to Madjid Khaladj’s Persian percussion instruments, through Steve Reich’s exhilarating beats and Fabrice Jünger’s contemporary touches…Dance, always dance: sun and rain dance, love and birds dance, dance claiming out the dancers’ joy; dance as a link between East and West, tradition and modernity … as a new fraternity.“HOURRA !” divides and multiplies itself in a unique momentum, grasped by all. The spectators’ and the dancers’ gaze merge and become one; one body, one ensemble.Dance is a serious game, as serious as a playing child; so let’s play.
