Fragment(s)
Recorded 8 June 2012, during the Danse Hiphop Tanz Festival 2012
This creation, designed for five performers, deals with the internal conflict of a photograph between the love that he has for the woman that he loves and the artistic object that she represents to him.
Fragment(s) is a triple creation that Arthur Harel produced in 2011: a story and three ways of living it. It comprises a monologue written by the author Adeline Picault, a short film produced in partnership with the young Colombian filmmaker James Carvajal in March 2010 and a choreographic work blending two disciplines that are dear to him, jazz and hip-hop. “Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Fragments is Ben. Six. Five. Four. Ben and Lou. Three. Two. One. Zero. Their furtive eternity. Flash. On these bodies taken and smitten, eat Art. Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Pixelize together to dream up oneself. Six. Five. Four. The inevitability of this crazy love. Three. Two. And also the violence. One. Zero. Ben and Lou. Five. Four. Living to die often. Three. Two. Lou and Ben. One. Zero. Infinite lovers of confusion. Ten. He takes photos. Nine. She poses surrenders to him. Eight. They, dancers of their broken image. Seven. They, pray a few shadows. Six. To find each other. Five. Their nights fall silent. Four Three Two. By looking too much at each other. One. Get lost. Zero. Never move again. Three. Two. One. Zero. Photo.”
