Festival Montpellier Danse 2016

The spotlight of this edition is on large companies founded by choreographers who are no longer alive or no longer with the company they made famous. The other main theme is to show solidarity and support to fellow artists living on Mediterranean shores.

For the 36th edition, the spotlight is on large companies founded by contemporary choreographers who are no longer alive today (Birgit Cullberg) or no longer with the company that they made famous (William Forsythe). The world is presently a troubled place, and the other main theme of this year’s festival is to show solidarity and support to fellow artists living on Mediterranean shores. What better way to do this than by showing their latest work?
