Ten concise portraits danced by the performers from “Le Saut de l’ange”, the work of Dominique Bagouet and Christian Boltanski, created for the Montpellier Festival in 1988. A village square, a golden light declining and strange inhabitants who, until the moment night falls, sprinkle the immobile air with a few sculptured gestures. They all come together at the end of each sequence for a vigorously dense, resounding gallop. These fragments, taken from the show and rewritten for the image, keep in line with the stretched-out time of the original work, composed as if it were some twilight.  The sober scene-shot and the linear stage direction concept bring each character into the light, helping us to understand the importance that Bagouet gave to each of the dancers in his work. The garlands of bulbs and the subtly old-fashioned costumes, created by the visual artist Christian Boltanski, release a melancholic poetry that is in perfect harmony with the choreographic writing. Deliberately outdated aesthetics, filmed calmly and with emotion.
