The group
Hamadryade (La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, Pays de la Loire)
The group is made up of members aged 19 to 50, all hailing from different horizons, from classical, jazz or contemporary dance backgrounds. Its aim is the creation and presentation on stage of dance pieces, an exercise that seeks to complete the technical classes.
The project
Vivacity, colour and musicality are the choreographic aspects that immediately aroused the interest of the group’s female dancers and made them want to learn the language of Baroque dance that is not just limited to simple recreations of 17th and 18th century balls and ballets. Baroque dance is really, and continues to be, a choreographic language in its own right. These extracts from Dialogues are proof of this, possessing an extremely contemporary character while at the same time using a vocabulary that is four centuries old.
