Danse indienne – Odissi
The elegant and sophisticated Madhavi Mudgal is the most exquisite ambassador of Odissi, epitomizing this style devoted to all things spiritual and sacred.
Choreographer, dance performance Madhavi Mudgal
In India, numerous styles of age-old tradition classical dances are practiced: bharatanatyam, kuchipudi, mohiniattam, khatak… and, of course, the odissi. Like all Indian classical dances, the technique is based on alternating between fragments of pure dance and of narrative dance, where the gestural codes are drawn from the classical discourses of the abhinaya, the art of representation. The elegant and sophisticated Madhavi Mudgal is its most exquisite ambassador, epitomizing this style devoted to all things spiritual and sacred. Source : DVD Tour du monde en 80 danses
