Danse de l'enchanteresse - Mohini Attam
Year of production
1985
In Hindu mythology, many legends tell the story of Mohini, the enchantress of ineffable beauty who charms and destroys evil forces with the power of her marvelous dance. It is under this name that developed between the XIVth and the XVIIth century in its current form, in the region of Kerala, parallel to Kathakali – dance theater and exclusively male art – a form of dance all refinement, charm and seduction.
Dance of entertainment, Mohini Attam evokes the joy in front of beauty, enchantment and love. It emphasizes the secular and loving side of episodes of mythology or devotional poetry. Soloist style, he is a synthesis of Kathakali and Bharata-Natyam.
