Conversation, dialogue ouvert avec la danse
Four years after taking over as director of the CCN in Nantes, Ambra Senatore wanted to take a break from the frenzy of choreographic creation, a time to step back and find another way to engage dance even more in life, outside the stage, outside the spectacular field. Without knowing exactly where it will lead, she has decided to engage in conversation with anyone who wishes to talk, meeting people in train stations, gardens, and other places, and inviting thinkers, researchers, scientists, and artists from other disciplines to join her. She has organized public discussions with an Iranian mathematician, an architect, an archaeologist, and an Italian astronomer.
These stimulating human encounters opened up new perspectives on the world and provided opportunities to compare different points of view. How does dance resonate with these different questions? How does dance accompany the movement of thought and dialogue? For the choreographer, it is still and always a way of combining discourse and movement, of slipping the theatrical and the physical into the format of a conference, but above all of seeking meaning through creation.
