A recipe by : Robyn Orlin
Method : Take dancers from different countries and different contexts, some met a long time ago, others tracked down recently. Mix together and you will have the closing show of Robyn Orlin’s three-year residency at the Centre national de la danse, Pantin (2004 to 2007). Enjoy!
Ingredients :
– Wilfried Romoli (étoile), and Yann Bridard (principal dancer) of the Paris Opera Ballet
– Ann Masina, South African opera singer- Rodney Buyeye and Prince Mngomezulu, Zulu dancers, who, at Robyn Orlin’s invitation, led workshops for 16 to 19 year-old students in 2006.
– Lemi Fudumele, Bokang Nene, Thato Qofela, Nkosana Sangweni, dancers from the South African company Via Katlehong for whom Robyn Orlin created the piece “Still life homeless heaven and urban wounds…(even bananas have bones)”
– Daniela Alvarez Lopez, Magdalena Bahamondes, Elisabeth Bakambamba Tambwe, Rafael Linares, David Tretiakoff, dancers who took part in the teacher training course taught by Robyn Orlin in May 2006 at the Centre national de la danse
– Aude Lachaise, performer of Robyn Orlin’s work since the inauguration of the CND
– Gerard Bester, partner in Robyn’s creations since 1990
– M. Zaza, who participated in the show “Daddy…” with his oriental dance company in October 2006 at the CND
– Ann Crosset, American performance artist, whose fiery presence enlivened the construction site of the CND in October 2003, and the inauguration in June 2004.
